Attila - The Story So Far...

He has been shooting pictures with still and motion picture cameras since 1970.

"The first pictures I ever took with any real purpose, were underwater on the South Coast, with a Kodak camera fitted in a custom made marine housing. The pictures were tragic, but at the time I thought they were great. I still have them to this day, but they stay well hidden. I drew my inspiration at the time from Jacques Cousteau who I thought was one of the greatest adventurers of all time, and Australian diving pioneers, Ron and Valerie Taylor".

Attila continued to explore various forms of photography until motion imagery became the outright obsession during the mid to late 70's. He made several documentary films winning acclaim and awards in Australia and internationally. This phase soon passed and Attila embarked on Photo-journalism as the main thrust to his artistic development. However motion pictures were never out of sight, so when things got tough in one medium, he would alternate to the other, ensuring his survival for another week.

The introduction of electronic vision into the industry prompted Attila to pursue alternatives in television. Working as a freelance operator, he began in the news gathering arena, moving to current affairs, sport, TV drama and lifestyle programs for Nine, Ten, SBS, Seven and overseas networks. However the calling was soon back to photo-journalism which he embraced with similar enthusiasm.
Journeys around Australia and around the world provided great source material for a myriad of publications Attila has been referenced in. His photographs are in the thousands and cover most genre.

Exhibition prints are limited runs of 20 and represent a keyhole view of this artist who is constantly in flux, drawing inspiration from all that is.
